The National Course Manager is the leader for our suite of Diploma level courses in Community Services, Mental Health and Counselling courses nationally. This role will ensure all courses within the course meet RTO standards and our aggressive student satisfaction targets.This is a non-teaching role focused on working with the National team and reporting to the Academic Manager to ensure seamless courses deliver outcomes for our students. About youYou have the ability to work independently and autonomously to identify and achieve the course objectives; you have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team; you have strong people management skills and a proven ability to deliver group training. You also have good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills, people management skills, and the ability to work under pressure, use one's initiative, and remain calm in stressful situations, and maximise results with the resources available.You also showed the capacity to independently plan, run, and monitor mentoring and support for trainers and assessors, an understanding of educational processes in the vocational education sector, the ability to manage projects and establish and work within strict deadlines, and the willingness to work collaboratively with a diverse group of staff across educational and broader functions in a scholarly and cooperative environment. Key responsibilities:Managing and implementing the Training and Assessment Strategy (TAS) as well as regularly review for updates and improvementsMaintaining ALG’s compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2019 and National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018Work closely with the Director of Studies & Quality Assurance on course reviews, transition plans and course portfolio including new course roll outEnsuring training and assessments are aligned to TAS and maintain mappingAct as the escalation point for students’ academic enquiries and assist in resolutionAs the Subject Matter Expert (SME), manage and implement outcomes from the validation and moderation processImplement systems and controls for accurate and timely completion of markingWork collaboratively with the Work Placement Team to ensure all students receive the required industry training and assessmentCompleting and maintaining Industry currency and compliance for the training teamConduct trainer observations and provide feedback to deliver improvementsUse the continuous improvement cycle of ALG’s education delivery through the review of trainer and student feedbackParticipate in external and internal auditsLeadership & ManagementLead and foster a high-performance culture in the training and assessment teamImplement the academic policies and procedures in Community Services, Mental Health and CounsellingMaintain your own industry and training and assessment currencySupport in recruitment activitiesConsulting with all stakeholders across ALG to ensure understanding and support of the delivery of the course specialisationsWorking with the Academic Manager, ensuring education budgets (teaching costs, content delivery, course review and development) are metContribute to the suite of reporting to measure and track the success of the delivery of the courseIndustry EngagementImplement the ALG industry engagement planEngage with industry stakeholders relating to the Community Services, Mental Health and Counselling industriesHold and recommend memberships of relevant professional associations (preferred)Obtain key industry endorsements for all qualifications within the Community Services, Mental Health and Counselling fields of studyQualifications and experience:At least five (5) years current experience working in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)At least one (3) years' experience working in a vocational education management leading a training and assessment teamAt least five (5) years current industry experience in the industry sector as a management role.3+ years of experience as a Trainer and Assessor.Detailed understanding of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2019Experience delivering education to international students under the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018 (preferred)Demonstrated understanding of vocational education principles and reporting requirements.Sound knowledge of other training packages and units of competencyHold the most current Diploma qualification in the course discipline area or Bachelor equivalent.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE 40116 or higher or equivalent.Hold detailed knowledge of requirements of the training specifications of the courses on scope for the course discipline area.Hold detailed knowledge of all tasks and skills required of all trainers and assessors within course discipline area. What makes working with us exciting:Paid birthday leaveWork-life balanceTraining and development opportunitiesJob rotation and career progressionA positive culture and fun team Diversity & Inclusion We celebrate our diversity and strive to reflect contemporary Australian society in order to better serve our students.
