This hands-on accounting role will suit someone who is an analytical thinker, has a strong work ethic, is keen to learn and grow with the organisation.You have good interpersonal skills, excellent communication and work well in a team as well as autonomously. You have high attention to details, is able to think strategically as well as is able to deliver operational responsibilities in a changing environment.About the roleThe role will report into the Group Finance Manager and is responsible for:Preparation of monthly consolidated management reporting packs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirementsAssisting in preparation of financial statements to for regular reporting to the Board of Directors, Senior Management and other stakeholdersWork closely with the Group Finance Manager to develop budgetary and accounting policiesAssistance with preparation of half yearly and yearly annual report and supporting schedulesAssisting with financial investigations and audits as required, by collaborating with external auditors and other professional advisorsMonitoring operating costs, organisations' income and expenditure, as well as preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and system maintenanceProviding financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans and operationsPreparing taxation returns and superannuation payment for all staffResponsible for bank reconciliations and credit controlProvide input for continuous improvements by introducing and maintaining accounting systemsAssistance with determining accounting treatment for technical accounting issuesResponsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable processesAssisting in the review and development of budgetary and accounting policies:Supervising and training of staff membersAd hoc report preparation Qualifications & experience:At least 1 year practical accounting experienceIndustry experience (vocational, higher education or training sector) desirable, but not essentialStrong technical accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills (including but not limited to: Nested If statements, VLookUps, Pivot Tables, Sumifs, Countifs, Match, Index)Completed a Commerce degree or equivalent accounting degreeDiversity & InclusionALG is an inclusive employer.
